A concrete grinder uses rotating diamond abrasives to polish or smooth a surface, removing a very thin layer. A concrete planer uses cutting tools, like our Rolling Wedge cutters, to aggressively remove thicker layers of material for repair or full-depth removal. Planing is for heavy removal, while grinding is for finishing.

The removal depth depends on the machine's power and the cutter setup. Our systems, compatible with skid steers and large milling machines, are designed for precision and can be adjusted for various depths. A planer attachment is mounted to a host machine like a skid steer. The operator lowers the rotating drum to the surface and drives forward at a controlled speed. Traditional planers use carbide picks that hammer the surface. Our patented Rolling Wedge tools use a rolling-wedging-lifting action.
